Clae Studio
Clae Studio — branding/design systems, website
Clae Studio is a ceramic studio and class space in Vancouver, BC, founded by ceramic artist Anais Casselman-Green. The goal of the project was to develop a brand identity that reflected Anais’ modern vision, a clean, contemporary aesthetic that still acknowledges the tactile, handcrafted nature of ceramics without relying heavily on traditional organic visual cues.
The identity centers around a distinctive logotype built with a hand-drawn typeface by Taylor Penton, chosen for its bold yet subtle character. Supporting brand standards include a refined colour palette, typography system, and image direction designed to create a cohesive visual language across digital and print applications.
The project also explored how the brand could extend into practical touchpoints, including a responsive website and a brochure catalogue presenting Clae Studio’s ceramic offerings. The catalogue introduces the studio’s work through a step-by-step look at the handmade tableware process, combining editorial layout with clean visual storytelling.
Together, these elements establish a fresh and inviting identity that reflects the studio’s contemporary approach while celebrating the artistry of handcrafted ceramics.
